Christopolo Innovation & Design:

a) Vegetable Tanning: On discovering that most tanneries had shifted to the faster and cheaper process of chemical tanning, Christopolo® team did a brief research to understand the methodology and successfully revived the almost forgotten technique of vegetable tanning. Learning and improving from the century-old skills, we started making use of natural seeds lkke myrobean, pungam, soya and water barks which have their roots anchored to South India. After completion of these rigorous and painstaking procedures, Christopolo® came up with the most fashionable leathers that age exceptionally well for many years. Today we are the proud leaders in the research and use of vegetable tanned leathers across the domestic sectors in India.

Christopolo Insides:

a) Marca Pluto: the dying art of Marco Pluto, where every stitch is embossed by heated metal foot, this concept has been brought back by Christopolo®, known as “Heritage Craft”, exclusive to Florence. We studied it 10yrs ago in Venice, Italy. It has since been abandoned in Italy as too time-consuming but we believe that the greatest beauty is often slow, stitched by Marco Pluto stitch.

b) Design Team: There is a great beauty in simplicity. We have explored various countries to incorporate the most classy and eye-catchy intricate designs, the philosophy that drives Christopolo® have their roots anchored in Ciaz Seani in Milan and Albian Rodriguez in London sharing the same belief.

c) Christopolo® multicultural aestheticity is also reflected in our design team. Albian Rodriguez with his edgy style and British functionality designs our men’s range. Rishi Gupta’s simple often androgynous sense makes for excellent men’s collection.

d) Hand Painting: Hand painting Christopolo® leathers are intrinsically elegant. Fortunately we don’t need to hide them under layers of paint. Our leathers are lightly colored, often by hand to ensure that natural character and grains of the leathers are visible. Every year, we also release a line of limited edition bags that are individually painted by illustrator and a renowned artist “Charan Sharma”, inspired by beauty of nature. The melody of the sea or the infinite possibilities of magic and fantasy, each bag illustrates a captivating story.
